i am writing this entry as a response to the bashing of azwan ismail via his video of ‘it gets better in malaysia‘ project . i hope before you comment on the video please understand the objective behind the project which is to lend help to young LGBTs to accept their sexuality in a positive manner . for not many of you know the detrimental repercussions to the LGBTs as a result of sexual minority persons could be lethal.
therefore i’m writing here as a lesbian muslim in malaysia in hope to make a change to stop spreading the culture of violence.
my humble intention is to promote a cause against violence, intimidation , ignorance and discrimination of the minorities , and in this case, against Malaysians LGBT. regardless of your sexuality, by supporting this cause you are in agreement that in no way violence should be resorted to, against a person who is being true to himself and to a larger extent, enabling the malaysian LGBT speaking of the truth about themselves freely without hindrance and without fear their lives are being threatened. the LGBT should equally be given voice to raise their concerns , to express their views and their needs to be heard as the other whose are non LGBT.
ai also believe the Government or any religious leaders shall not promote or sanction hatred and self-hate with inflammatory sermons in the name of religion in view of propagating violence or hatred against the LGBT community. it is not so hard to see that to love is not immoral but to hate is. the only thing they dutifully must condemn is threatening violence and hate against others.
it’s totally uncouth to condone violence !!!!
if anything, i am not undermining any religions teaching but think, what difference you foresee by persecuting the LGBT ? are we promoting the fact that Islam is all about violence and punishments when the very first thing we learned bout Islam is, it’s a religion of peace?
then ask yourself, ain’t violence is sinful? to inflict violence against gay people would not win you a place in heaven and certainly not Islamic at all. when you encourage violence, u ain’t any better than the LGBT u claimed so low
i shall not need to remind you that none of us is above the other as we are all equal in God’s eyes.
the message here is clear, i am declaring war against violence, and violence only.
and so, i leave u at that.
i hope there is a glimmer of hope for Malaysians LGBT to be heard and accepted the way they are cause frankly love knows no boundaries, so be they in love and celebrate their love.

i just cannot fathom and profoundly unable to connect the dots between the spreading assumptions that you can UN-GAY the gays ? the fact that sexuality of many the LGBT aren’t self-inflicted goes to disapprove the unfounded myth . for the ignorance out there, do not flatter yourself, being gay would not thwart the society, but corruption would, being untruthful and oppressive would, whatmore violence.
