if you are looking for a mix of issues : homosexuality, nudity, love , artsy fartsy, drugs; this movie could be the answer.
the execution is honestly flimsy, some scenes are too abstract or artistic (?) for my understanding and liking to some extent it appears dry. majority of the scenes contain full frontal nudity which may offend you, or not at all . the amount of penises shot in this movie is abundance, so u may want to be aware of that.
not forgetting a pair of boobies too
( now that catches your attention eh? )
There is no way to quit a fateful love is essentially the message this movie is trying to convey . Indeed, Daniel and Kafka despite their strong dissimilarities of cultural and background settings, they crossed path which eventually led them to romance and fall in love. it’s pure kismet when they find each other.
This movie stirred my emotions, deeply , on Daniel’s determination to prove his sincere unconditional love towards Kafka. Kafka has all his life struggling with emotional baggage and dark past secrets he sluggishly unable to let go off. He therefore resorts to drugs ( hence the title of the movie , amphetamine) as an escapade .
i was at disbelief Kafka’s initial confession that he was unable to love Daniel back in a romantic way. that runs contrary to how they were at ease, especially Kafka who particularly said to be with Daniel is against his nature, at some intimate moments between two guys. although Kafka has not exactly grown up to the idea of 2 men loving each other, he does his best to reciprocate Daniel’s love. perhaps Daniel’s presence in his life changes him although not quite so with his addiction to drugs and . The best part is, he eventually did .
Opposite attracts; may be true in some cases but in reality, the huge gap between two people coming from total opposite seems like a fairytale that barely comes true, in fact, the void in itself might be the reason of division and fallout .
Sang KB and i favorite for being a handsome and gentleman; Daniel
A successful love story does not come unto your lap without hard work and drive to make it happen. would they work out the differences for the love they have for each other? the anticipation to discover whether they would be together finally kept me going to the finishing line watching faithfully from the beginning ’til the end.
i was trying to add another perspective with regards to the plain and obvious detrimental effect drugs could have over u. LOVE , is as much addictive as drugs and losing control of your sanity over love would be fatal as well. the way love is killing you from inside out almost similar to drugs’ lethal mechanism .
is there right or wrong doings to prove your love for someone? do u have to make sacrifices in order to prove the amount of love you have for your significant other? if you do, what is the limit?
where to draw the lines?where to draw the line?
ps: i named my puppy toy kafka because of this movie.
regards,
